I confess, I do love to travel. If you do to, you will love the New Mexico Fiber Arts Trail. There are actually three loops to the trail, all easily accessible from Albuquerque, New Mexico. Each loop will take you on a tour where you can visit home studios, galleries, yarn shops, and farms with fiber animals.
Don’t forget to take in the spectacular scenery and other attractions along the way. Learn about the history of the area and how it impacted the local fiber artists. See what gives them the inspiration to create.
Check with the studios and galleries for classes you can take while there. Learn the whole process from fleece to finished product. Meet with fiber artists of all ages and cultures.
The three loops include:
- North Central Loop with towns such as Espanola, Chimayo, Taos and Madrid.
- Northwest Loop with towns such as Abiquiu, Los Ojos, and Toadlena
- Southern loop with towns such as Turth of Consequences, Elephant Butte, Chloride and Magdalena
